Privacy Policy – RideRoute Animator

RideRoute Animator ("the app") creates animated route videos for road trips. This policy explains what information the app uses. In short: no account, no ads, no tracking, and your videos stay on your device.

Information the app sends to online services

To find places, calculate the road route and show the map, the app sends the following over the internet:

• Place names or coordinates you type, and Google Maps links you paste, to a place-search service (Photon by komoot / OpenStreetMap Nominatim) and, for short links, to Google to expand the link.
• The coordinates of your chosen stops, to a road-routing service (OSRM) to calculate the route.
• Your current location, only if you tap "Use current location": it is used once to fill in your starting point (and sent to the place-search service to find its name). It is never tracked or stored on a server.
• GPX files you choose are read on your device; only the start and end coordinates are sent to the place-search service to name them.
• Map tile requests for the area being shown, to map providers (OpenFreeMap; Esri for satellite and terrain maps).

As with any internet request, these services receive your device's IP address. They are used only to provide these functions; the app does not send your name, contacts, device identifiers or your GPS location.

Information stored on your device

• Your style settings (colours, map style, camera, etc.) are saved locally on your device.
• Videos you export are created on your device and saved or shared only where you choose (Gallery, WhatsApp, etc.).

What the app does not do

• No user accounts or sign-in.
• No advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No background location, and no access to your contacts, camera or microphone.
• No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for marketing.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party services
